IOW to receive 150k from ceres trust
Aloha mai kākou,
We have exciting news to share with you: I Ola Wailuanui has been selected to receive $150,000 in funding from Ceres Trust!
We want to mahalo those at Ceres Trust for believing in the hana, or work, I Ola Wailuanui is engaging in to restore Wailuanuiahoʻāno and promote community-based stewardship. This funding stream is inspiring, and a huge source of support as we holomua (move forward) in our endeavors.
Taken from the Ceres Trust homepage:
“Ceres Trust supports movement–oriented organizations; independent scientists; and the preservation and restoration of ecological, Indigenous and farmer knowledge. Ceres Trust invests in the organizing, strategy development and resiliency required to spark systemic, equitable and transformative change. Ceres Trust emphasizes long–term relationships with grantees. Grantmaking is focused in Hawai’i, the upper Midwest, and the San Joaquin Valley of California.”
I Ola Wailuanui is firmly rooted in ʻŌlelo Noʻeau #142 “ʻAʻohe hana nui ke alu ʻia” which translates to mean “No task is too big when done together by all.” Support from organizations such as Ceres Trust and Seventh Generation, as well as our community supporters such as Captain Andy’s, and the hundreds of individuals who have donated online, encapsulates the wisdom this ʻŌlelo Noʻeau has to offer.
Mahalo for your continued kākoʻo of I Ola Wailuanui and we look forward to sharing more with you all in the near future regarding our efforts to restore Wailuanuiahoʻāno.
